Visuals and Interview Opportunity: Amber Rooke, Executive artistic director of the Works, and Elizabeth Hobbs, communications director of StreetFest, will be available for interviews. Street performers will be on scene to provide a taste of their talent along with some of the Works art installations.
“We are thrilled to be back in action after so many years of hurdles,” said Amber Rooke, Executive Artistic Director of the Works. “We’re especially excited to collaborate with StreetFest to celebrate all kinds of art and bolster community relationships that have suffered throughout the pandemic.”
“It’s the crossover we’ve all been waiting for,” said Elizabeth Hobbs, Communications Director of StreetFest.
“It’ll be awesome to be able to bring people back downtown for an explosion of creativity. Both festivals work to remove any barriers to art accessibility, and we’re happy to work together to put on a show that everyone can enjoy!”
Both festivals return after years of construction and COVID-19. During the past two years, StreetFest was a series of neighbourhood parades while the Works offered scaled-back iterations. Both festivals are thrilled to get back in front of live and in person audiences!
