Pancho has become a sought-after independent artist performing regularly — and internationally, in 35 countries all over the world. He has had the pleasure of performing with the world-renowned Cirque Du Soleil for Canada’s 150-year celebration and is an award-winner in many international festivals. You can’t miss him!

While Sarah Teakle was born a couple decades too late to experience the music, fashion, and big hair of the ’80s, it didn’t stop her from wishing she had. In this show, Sarah combines her love of aerobics and circus to create something truly unique. Her high-energy hula hooping, juggling skills, ridiculous aerobics, and daring finale will make everyone wish they had brought their leotards and leg warmers along with them.

The Amazing Martika – One Woman Stunt Show

Martika graces the audience with her witty humor and playful charm, but don’t let this fool you; she is a one-woman stunt show that takes the audience on a journey through some of her death-defying adventures. Taking calculated risks while keeping to her goals, Martika is known for her motivational speaking while incorporating sideshow stunts. No matter how terrifying a goal may be, it is achievable.

Martika entertains with fire eating, barbed wire hula hooping, swallowing swords and more. Her spectacular show will leave you wondering: “How did she do that!? I want to see more!”

The Great Balanzo!

The Great Balanzo presents circus and comedy seen live by over one million people in 13 countries around the world. He’s had repeat invitations to Just for Laughs, sold-out shows at the National Arts Centre, and John Cleese from Monty Python once said “hello” to him.

Ross is a circus artist known for his elegance and irreverence. He first appeared at Street Fest in 1989 and has been participating ever since. When not on stage, he spends his time at a cabin in the woods where he hopes to retire and start an animal rescue or a cult.

Every night of the Festival, the street performers of the day gather in the centre of the Square to create a never-before-seen variety show combining all of their talents. It’s the perfect way to end a long day of festival-going with one last, totally unique experience! The Troupe du Jour Variety Show changes every day, so no two viewings will be quite the same.

His skillful and innovative approach to playing the balalaika has earned him recognition and praise from audiences and fellow musicians alike. Denys is a versatile musician who can seamlessly transition between different genres of music, including Ukrainian folk music, classical, and improvisation. He has also managed to modernize the balalaika, making it sound like a contemporary instrument in his hands. Denys has performed at many prestigious music festivals, including the Unity Jazz Festival in Kyiv, the Odessa Jazz Festival, and the Koktevel Jazz Festival in Odessa.

The City Worker

The City Worker cleans, fixes, and maintains any environment he’s in with a fervour that is hilarious. His dedication to his job is admirable. His skills are ridiculous. Whether he’s vacuuming the lawn or dusting a single leaf, he’s always focused on perfection.

The City Worker is a contemporary clown that both amuses and confuses audiences with hilarious antics that are obvious to some and inconspicuous to others. By adapting and modifying mundane everyday activities, Ross turns simple acts of cleaning into hilarious satire as well as meaningful commentaries on society.

Heather D. Swain, a professional actor since the late 1900’s, was asked by Dick Finkel in 1994 to come make people laugh. From that invitation Heather went on to create nine amazing roving characters that have toured across Alberta, Canada, USA, Mexico, and London UK. She is thrilled to return for the 40th Streetfest and bring her Humour Associates back to the square. Crowd favourites include Miss Information, The Queen of Rationalization, and Humour Healthcare Specialists – Dr. Auntie Dote.

Juggling Workshop

Charlie Peters

Come learn how to juggle! Or how to balance a spinning plate! Or, well, how to use any number of circus props! All ages are invited to try something new.

Charlie wears many hats. Often tall and precarious hats. Usually colourful. Sometimes with a feather. Adopting many personas – from scientist to poet to general fool – an encounter with Charlie is sure to bring a smile to your face. Charlie has been seen on stages – or roving at festivals and community events – across Western Canada. Trained as a red-nosed clown at the Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance, Charlie also teaches juggling, acting, and more to people of all ages.
