Sir Winston Churchill Square Your last chance to catch festival faves from around the world as they present a closing show not to be missed! |
PAYMENT FOR ALL WORKSHOPS AND NON-TICKETED PERFORMANCES : PASS THE HAT
StreetFest is a curated festival. This means all of the artists you see on our site are performing at the exclusive invitation of our Artistic Producer Shelley Switzer, who works year-round to bring you the best of the best. We all have a role to play: we invite them, they perform and you pay them!
Our main festival site is Sir Winston Churchill Square at 99 Street and 102 A Avenue. It’s the heart of downtown in Edmonton’s Arts District, right in front of City Hall.
StreetFest is open to the public and wheelchair accessible. Entrance is free and all outdoor performances are in the pass-the-hat tradition.

The LRT and ETS buses stop near Churchill Square. Transit Info: 311 or 780-496-1600
In a new partnership with Co-op Taxi, StreetFest is offering our patrons a Taxi Stand on the corner of 99th Street and 102 Avenue for convenient pick-ups and drop-offs.
Underground parking is available at the Stanley A. Milner Library, The Citadel Theatre and City Hall. Many outdoor parking lots are within two or three blocks.
Check out our Edmonton Journal Information Station and our new Greeting Tent for Festival Guides and programming information. If you have a smart phone, you can also scan the QR Codes found on our marketing materials and throughout the Festival site for more info on StreetFest and our artists.
The fun begins at 11:30am and ends with a Troupe du Jour variety show at 10pm daily. Our schedule is as flexible and unpredictable as our artists – it’s the nature of our art form. Performances will be adapted to suit the weather and crowds. We will do our best to predict a schedule through the day. Check for updates at the Edmonton Journal Information Station, our Greeting Tent and on Twitter.
We are a 99.9% outdoor Festival. Please be sure to double check the weather forecast before you join us on the Square. (Visit our website at www.edmontonstreetfest.com for a link to the latest weather information.) We adjust performance schedules according to the weather conditions and our crowds. Your enjoyment and safety are first in our thoughts and plans. When you arrive at Sir Winston Churchill Square, please go to our new Greeting Tent or to the Edmonton Journal Information Station for the latest updates.
We’ve all got to make a living. Street performers work hard to make you smile, so please reward them. We encourage you to put cash into their hats. Change is available at the Edmonton Journal Information Station.
Keep us on the street where we belong by making a donation to the Festival and/or by purchasing a ticket to our onsite raffles. Donations to the Festival are accepted at the Edmonton Journal Information Station, at our Greeting Tent. You can also donate online via our website: www.edmontonstreetfest.com or through your smartphone using QR Codes found throughout the Festival and PayPal.
Join in the festival fun by participating in our Fun Photo Contest (Sponsored by Global Television and McBain Camera). Post a review on Facebook and follow our daily updates on Twitter.
Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and comfortable footwear are in high fashion at StreetFest. Please supervise your children at all times. Bottled water is available for purchase. Vendors sell a wide range of festival-style snacks and beverages.
Warning: if your cellphone rings during a show you may be shamed mercilessly. Please turn off your phone during performances. Videotaping performances is not permitted.
And if you’re coming with a group, ensure all children or others requiring supervision are easily recognizable – matching hats, shirts or wristbands work wonderfully. Daycares, take this opportunity to teach children how to pay for art – load ‘em up with loonies! And be sure to take in the fun at Kids’ World and Be Your Own Busker in the ATB Financial Big Tent.
If you need assistance, just ask. We’re here to help!
